"Shut Up Heather!"

Why do I have the tendency to post once a month―actually, around the same time every month? It's rather odd.

Anyway, Happy Black Friday! (Even though it started while it was still Thanksgiving but  who cares anymore, right? It's all about making money and  how early to start sales!

Anyway, recently I fell in love with a musical that opened on Off-Broadway in March 2014 and closed back in August. Well, at least I did with the music―the directing kinda sucked after watching it (I've only seen the first act but I thought it was okay).

The musical is Heathers: The Musical, and yes it's based on the 1989 film Heathers, starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. It follows high school senior Veronica Sawyer and her 'relationship' with the most popular kids in school, a trio of girls known as the Heathers (all three of their names are Heather),two football players (Ram and Kurt), and her mysterious hot boyfriend J.D., which involves murder.  I saw the movie before I watched the production and it looks pretty accurate to the film. (Fair warning, if you like the movie, then I wouldn't watch the show—it pokes fun at some of the key ideas and quotes from the movie.)

I really like the music for it! It's catchy, fun, and requires some really powerful vocals to sing.

One song I enjoy listening to is 'Candy Store', (above) mainly because of its vocals. I mean, the direction of the show wasn't the greatest but the songs are pretty good. If you don't like the sound quality here, here's the link to the musical soundtrack on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA0B_ne4hZEY_HJiTypgqKtArvzcT2Ucq
