".....That I Can Tell You In One Word: Tradition!"

I'm upset that my theatre adventures of the summer (aka working at the local theatre company) is coming to an end this week! Ahhh!

We just finished Fiddler on the Roof Jr and I must say it was a success.

For some odd reason, I was very excited for this show to occur--more excited than I currently am for Into The Woods Jr--but now I am completely in love with it.

The show has made me appreciate my own family and traditions as well as have sympathy for the villagers of Anatevka, particularly Tevye and Chava. Plus, this show in particular can have the option of either having a lot of choreography or having the bare amount needed; yet reusing older and more traditional choreography can help strengthen the character and credibility of the soul of the musical as well as earning a reputation of being very interesting and intriguing to watch.

I honestly enjoyed watching the choreography of the show and I would watch it again in a heartbeat. Two of the songs I enjoyed in particular are "Tradition" (it is the perfect song to build an intense theme for the entire show) and the Bottle Dance (okay, it isn't a song, but this was my favorite dance to watch).

Fortunately, the cast of the most recent Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof performed a medley of both musical numbers at the 2004 Tony Awards: the show was nominated for six Tonys but did not win any. (I hear that a fifth Broadway revival is scheduled for the fall of 2015!)
